AY90 Peace and Reconciliation Walk
Ambassador Andrew Young is turning 90 and to celebrate, people from all over the city of Atlanta gathered downtown to walk for hope and peace! What a historic moment with our Global Spokesman, Ambassador Andrew Young —Operation HOPE was honored to join him on a 90-minute walk for Peace and Reconciliation in honor of his 90th birthday!
Did you know that Ambassador Young served as Mayor of Atlanta from 1982-1990, bringing jobs and 70 billion dollars in private investment to the City during a recession? His leadership, vision and global reputation were instrumental in bringing the Centennial Olympic Games to Atlanta in 1996 – the very place where the walk started.
This moment was about celebrating and honoring a man who always stood for the RIGHT thing and the people. There was a statue unveiling at Rodney Cook Peace Park in his honor. We’re honored to have him as our Global Spokesman and continue to carry the torch of social justice!
